Dobbs Ferry Boys Suffer First Loss to Woodlands

DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. – Dobbs Ferry’s Eric Paschall scored a game-high 24 points Wednesday, but the previously-unbeaten Eagles could not hold off a strong effort by Woodlands and suffered their first loss of the season, 75-66.

Dobbs Ferry (9-1) had won its first nine games of the season before facing the Falcons (6-3), who had struggled early in the season and were coming off a home loss to Peekskill.

Thomas Fleming, who averages 16 points per game, added 11 points for Dobbs Ferry.

Reece Williams, a lefty shooter, ran the floor and made several medium-range jump shots, finding openings in the Dobbs Ferry defense. The Falcons opened with a 21-14 first quarter advantage and bumped the lead to 37-27 at halftime playing chasing defense on the high-scoring Eagles.

Woodlands came out at halftime with more energy than the Eagles and raced to a 17-7 third-quarter run to build a 20-point lead that sealed the win.
