Dobbs Ferry Football Seeks To Extend Win Streak

DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. – The defending Class C state champion Dobbs Ferry High School football team will seek to continue its winning ways when it hosts Pawling (0-2) on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at Mercy College.

The Eagles are 2-0 so far this season with a 19-8 win against Haldane in week one, and a 42-30 win at Burke Catholic in week two. Dobbs Ferry has now won 13 straight games dating back to last season.

Dobbs Ferry has junior sensation Tim Soave to thank, in large part, for the successful start. The running back carried the ball 30 times for 320 yards and five touchdowns against Burke Catholic and had three rushing touchdowns in the season opener against Haldane.

Soave will likely be the key to victory again for the Eagles against Pawling, which gave up 26 points in its season opener and 29 points last week. Pawling also gave up 296 yards on the ground to Tuckahoe in week one. Soave could have his way with the Tigers’ defense on Saturday.

To top if off, Pawling has scored just eight points so far this season. The Eagles will likely be too much for the Tigers to handle.
