Dobbs Ferry Football Team Wins Section 1 Class C Championship

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. -- Top-seeded Dobbs Ferry dominated the Section 1 Class C football championship game against No. 2 Woodlands Saturday, with the Eagles rolling to a 35-0 victory at Pace University.

it was the first sectional championship for Dobbs Ferry since 2011, when the team won the section and then went on to win a state title.

Jibril Kapadia had an 18-yard touchdown reception, a rushing touchdown, and threw a 14-yard touchdown pass to Hadi Darvish. Dan DiRusso also had a 14-yard touchdown run for the 7-0 Eagles.

Dobbs Ferry is set to play in a New York State quarterfinal on Saturday, Nov. 14 at Dietz Stadium in Kingston, taking on the Section 9 champion.
