Dobbs Remains Unbeaten in Win Over Hastings

HASTINGS-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. – Eddie Ritch returned to the lineup after a two-game hiatus Wednesday and scored a game-high 21 points to lead the visiting Dobbs Ferry boys’ basketball to a 66-41 victory over Hastings.

Ritch, who missed last weekend’s Mayclim Tournament at Croton for a college visit, ran the offense from the point guard spot and added even more quickness to an already athletic lineup.

“It’s been a little different with football, missing a couple of games on a visit and getting back to playing basketball,” said Ritch, a three-sport athlete who was also lead running back for the Eagles Class C state football champions.

The Eagles (5-0) trailed 9-6 after one quarter but began the second quarter with a 13-0 run to take the lead and maintained a 30-21 halftime edge.

Dillon Healy led all Hastings scorers with a career-best 18 points, nine in the first half. Joe Tino finished with six points and Jeb Polstein added six points of the bench for the Yellow Jackets.

Tino scored six points in the first quarter and the Hastings (3-4) defense stifled the Eagles’ usually prolific offense as the Jackets built a short-lived three-point lead after one.

Tom Fleming contributed 13 points and Eric Paschall and Matt Latainer each added 11 points for the Eagles.
