The Irvington High School girls team is the reigning three-time defending Class B state champion and favored to win a fourth consecutive title.

Ossining's girls team is led by University of Connecticut-bound Saniya Chong, who has scored nearly 3,000 points over her high school career. The Pride are also a strong favorite to take the Class AA large school championship.

The third girls team is Elmsford's Alexander Hamilton, the Class C regional champion that is playing without injured star Maia Hood, but has overcome the odds to make this weekend's Final Four.

On the boys side, both New Rochelle and tiny Martin Luther King, Jr of Hastings-on-Hudson are underdogs winning games in the final seconds to advance.

New Rochelle has defeated reigning state champion Mount Vernon and upset highly-ranked Kingston en route to the Class AA Final Four, while MLK brings together a tenacious bunch that hope to win their school its first state title.
