HASTINGS-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. -- The Hastings-on-Hudson Parks and Recreation Department will offer a full slate of fitness programs, including line dancing, yoga, Tai Chi Chaun and land aerobics for its residents 50 years and older beginning the week of Sept. 12.
Yoga classes include an hour of chair yoga on Mondays and Wednesdays at 11 a.m. and a mat yoga class offered on Wednesdays at 10 a.m. Both classes will be taught by Donna Beauchamp and held at the James Harmon Community Center at 44 Main Street.
Line dancing will be taught by Richard Barnett each Tuesday from 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at the James Harmon Community Center.
Tai Chi Chaun, one of the ancient Chinese martial arts, is also offered at the James Harmon Community Center for Hastings-on-Hudson residents each Friday from 11 a.m. to 11:45 a.m., taught by Ed Young, a Hastings-on-Hudson resident.
For those who are looking for an energetic workout, Land Aerobics begins on Sept. 22 at the James Harmon Community Center each Thursday from 11 a.m. to noon and is taught by Gina Miller, a personal trainer with offices located in Hastings-on-Hudson.
