Pace Athletics Hall Of Fame Ceremony Draws Record Number Of Attendees

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. -- Pace University athletics held its 2014 Hall of Fame ceremony in front of a record number of attendees this past Friday, March 28 at Willow Ridge Country Club in Harrison.

The evening featured a reception, dinner and awards ceremony that welcomed in the Hall of Fame Class of 2014 as well as the fourth Peter X. Finnerty Leadership Award recipient in program history.  It also inducted the newly created Team of Distinction Award.

The newest members to the Pace Athletics Hall of Fame are Tom Grega (football), Kory Langley (volleyball ‘99), Henry Manning (baseball ‘91) and Joe Vuotto (men’s lacrosse ‘00) including its 50th member to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the Pace Pleasantville campus.

The Pace athletics Hall of Fame was started in 1997 with this year’s ceremony marking the thirteenth induction class. In addition, the Pace University athletics department has selected the 1984-85 women’s basketball team as the first Team of Distinction Award winner and Pace University Professor Dr. Joseph Pastore as the Peter X. Finnerty Leadership Award recipient.

“We are thrilled with the growth and success of the Pace Athletics Hall of Fame in recent years," said Executive Director of Alumni Relations and Annual Giving Dawn Rigney.

"Friday night’s event brought together generations of Pace Athletes to celebrate the past and discuss the future growth of the Pleasantville campus. Our partnership with athletics is extremely valuable and we are proud to provide support at events such as the Hall of Fame each year.”
