DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. The Dobbs Ferry boys basketball team puts its perfect 9-0 record on the line Wednesday when the Eagles hosts Woodlands in a 4:15 p.m. start.
The Eagles won their ninth straight game in a breeze, defeating Edgemont 68-37 Monday after a tough test last Friday in a 56-51 victory over Bronxville.
Eric Paschall leads the Eagles in scoring with 19.8 points per game followed by Tom Fleming at 16.1 a game. The high-scoring tandem accounts for more than half of the Eagles average output of 67 points per game. Paschall also leads the team in rebounding with nine per game followed by John Yozzo-Scaperrotta with just over five rebounds per game.
Defenses keying on Paschall and Fleming should beware of guards Eddie Ritch (9.4 points per game), Spencer Avalos (5.7) and Danny Crowe (5.6), who are capable of scoring and lead a strong defense that allows just under 40 points per game.
Woodlands is at 5-3 and comes off a 64-59 loss to Peekskill but the Falcons are athletic and can pose problems for the Eagles in transition running the floor.
