Ardsley's Madeline Wong Earns Gold At Level 4 Downstate Gymnast Meet

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- The World Cup girls gymnasts ended their meet season at the Level 3 States Downstate Meet that took place at New Image Gymnastics in Edgewood, Saturday and Sunday, June 7-8.

Level 3 senior Abby Bartlett from Pound Ridge became the all-around champion, and earned a 38.075.  She added two more gold medals for vault and for beam and won bronze for bars.

Irvington native Emmy Juenger, produced a routine that earned her silver all-around with a score of 37.725 and two other silver medals for beam and floor. 

Individual medals went to Kaia Van Der Mark of Hartsdale who won a silver medal for beam and Ella Maerz of Congers who won gold for her vault routine.

In the Senior E division, Mount Kisco native, Emily Marple, was the all-around silver medalist with a score of 37.250 and earned two more silver medals for bars and floor.

In the Level 3 Junior division, Jenna Fox of Valhalla was the silver all-around medalist with a 37.70 and earned two silver medals for vault and floor. Julia Hansburg of Bedford earned sliver on bars with a 9.425.

The Level 4 girls competed at the New York Downstate Championships at Galaxy Gymnastics in Orangeburg, N.Y., on Saturday and Sunday, May 31-June 1. 

Mount Kisco native Karen Sasakura was the second place champion earning an all-around score of 37.95.  She medaled in every event taking home two gold medals for vault and beam and two bronze medals for bars and floor.

Her teammate Marni Chernis also from Mount Kisco took home the bronze all-around medal and two silver medals for bars and floor. 

Individual medals went to Madeline Wong from Ardsley who won gold on floor and Jessica Reith from Scarsdale who took home the bronze medal for bars.
