Two men won $1 million lottery jackpots on Friday, Jan. 26, less than half an hour apart playing the same game.
Lawrence Troy, of Mansfield, and Jonathan Seward, of Sheffield, both won the seven-figure prizes playing the “$5,000,000 100X Cashword” $20 scratch-off game. Seward was the first to claim his prize, and Troy followed with his winning ticket 25 minutes later.

Child Porn Case: Ex-Foxborough High Special Ed Teacher Pleads Guilty, Feds Say
A former teacher at Foxborough High School admitted this week to receiving child pornography that featured children under 12, federal authorities said.
Thomas Davis, 42, of Mansfield, pleaded guilty on Wednesday, Feb. 8, to one count of receiving child pornography, the US Attorney for Massachusetts said. He faces a minimum of five years behind bars and up to two decades.

A Massachusetts adjunct professor has been arrested and charged with the death of a longtime police officer.
Karen Read, age 41, of Mansfield, a lecturer at Bentley University in Waltham, Massachusetts, was charged with manslaughter for allegedly running over her Boston Police officer boyfriend and leaving him for dead in a snowbank while a Nor'easter roared across the area on Saturday, Jan. 29.
According to the Daily Mail, Read allegedly dropped John O'Keefe, age 46, a 16-year veteran of the Boston Police, off at a house in Canton.

Sabrina Garieri Of Rye Brook, Warwick, Dies Days After Turning 18
Sabrina E. Garieri, of Rye Brook in Westchester and Warwick in Orange County, died just days after turning 18.
She died on Sunday, Aug. 11.
Sabrina was born Aug. 7, 2001, to Vincent and Carmela (Cecere) Garieri. Originally from Rye Brook, she relocated with her family to Warwick and later to Mansfield, Massachusetts, and had just graduated from Mansfield High School.
