Village officials announced that due to the safety concerns, the library will begin enforcing the original, one-way traffic flow plan in the parking lot that had been approved earlier this year.

Traffic will enter the driveway from Wolfs Lane and exit onto Carol Place. Officials said that signage has been put in place to alert motorists and ensure an easy transition.

Officials noted that the library has seen a “marked” increase in the use of its parking lot recently, and the number of cars in the driveway has begun backing up and by traveling in both directions, it created safety hazards for children and patron visiting the library.

Patricia Perito, the Executive Director of the Library, said the timing was intentional, to get patrons used to the new one-way traffic flow plan.

“We are making this change over the summer to acclimate the community to the intended traffic flow before school starts up again after Labor Day.”
