DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. Snow continues to fall at a rapid pace on Saturday and a winter weather advisory is in effect until 4 p.m. according to the National Weather Service .
Anywhere from four to six inches of snow can be expected with winds around 10 miles per hour. Visibility will be one half mile at times as snow could fall at up to one inch per hour before slowing down in the afternoon according to the National Weather Service.
Dobbs Ferry police said there have been no roads closed in the village as a result of the snow. There have been no roads closed in Hastings either. Dobbs Ferry police said there has been lots of shoveling, but no weather related complaints. Both departments also said there have been no reported accidents, power outages or wires down as of Saturday afternoon.
All Dobbs Ferry and Hastings school buildings are closed all day Saturday and the Hastings Public Library was closed this morning and it will determine its hours for the rest of the day at noon.
With the snowfall still fresh and plows working to clear the streets, police have advised residents to stay off the slick roads, but to use extra caution if you must drive.
The Hastings police department asks that all residents with driveways or other off street parking to please park your vehicle in them and off of roads, the village said in a statement.
The Hastings Fire Department said residents should shovel out fire hydrants whenever possible in case theyre needed. The village also said in a statement that it is against local law to shovel snow into the streets so be mindful of that.
