HASTINGS-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. - Dan-Michael Batista, an image consultant who developed his love for clothing growing up as a teen in Hastings, has published a guide to thrifty second-hand shopping for the men. Batista's “Why Buy New? A Thrifter’s Trade Secrets Revealed” offers a simple shopping guide for men in search of style on a budget. The book has been has been released as an e-book online.
"It was my intention to create a small pocket-size handbook that would help anyone to navigate the second-hand clothing world like a pro," Batista said. "The dream is to create a unique and authentic wardrobe that really speaks to who you are, while simultaneously saving the planet and money. Man, does it get any better than that?"
Batista, who began his consulting business in New York City and now lives in Minneapolis, Minn., says the guide is a lighthearted, approachable book about "thrifting" and teaches you to navigate the world of second-hand clothes shopping.
"Whether you are a second-hand novice or a veteran thrifter, the tips and tricks in this book will help you have fun, save time, and look great on a modest budget." Batista said.
