John Ashe, a diplomat from Antigua, was arrested in October as part of an investigation into a corruption scheme, reported newyorktimes.com.

Ashe, who served as the president of the General Assembly from September 2013 to September 2014, was one of six people accused of accepting hundreds of thousands of dollars from Chinese sources, said the newyorktimes.com.
