Cars Broken Into, Man Robbed in Dobbs Ferry

DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. -- Police spotted two cars that were broken into at the New York Sports Club on Aug. 15. An officer driving by noticed a 2009 mini cooper with a smashed out front passenger window. The owner of the vehicle is a 58-year-old female. Police said the incident happened sometime between 2 and 4 p.m. The victim said her pocket book with credit cards, debit cards and personal papers was missing.

The second car broken into was a 1997 Toyota 4Runner, which also had a window smashed out. The vehicle belonged to a 41-year-old-female, who told police a $250 check, and $300 in cash were missing, along with debit and credit cards.

An 18-year-old female reported to police that her belongings were stolen from her 2011 black Nissan Rogue. The incident occurred sometime between 2 a.m. and 11 a.m. on Aug. 17 and the victim told police her wallet, driver's license, debit cards and a GPS system were missing. Police said the vehicle was parked in the victim's driveway unlocked.

A 22-year-old male was robbed on Woodbine Terrace on Aug. 18 around approximately 2 a.m. Police said the victim was standing outside of his residence when he was approached by four males. The victim told police that a conversation started and one of the males grabbed his Droid cellphone. When he asked for it back, police said one of the men punched the victim in the face. The four men fled the scene and police are still investigating the incident.

Police said a 47-year-old Dobbs Ferry woman was recently the victim of identity theft. The woman told police that sometime between July 15 and Aug. 20 an unknown person opened an American Express card under her name and charged $150 to the account. Police are still investigating the matter.
