Rocktoberfest to Rock Matthiessen Park Saturday

Good, because Rocktoberfest food and music festival hits the village on Saturday, Oct. 11.

Eight local bands and six Westchester eateries will fill the air with amazing sounds and smells throughout the event at Matthiessen Park, at the end of Bridge Street in Irvington, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Beer will be flowing throughout the day courtesy Captain Lawrence Brewery of Elmsford.

Rocktoberfest is presented by Irvington F.A.C.E. (Fundraising and Community Events), which is asking for a $10 per individual or $25 per family suggested donation, which will go toward supporting Irvington recreation programs.  

According to the Irvington Penguin Plunge website, an event also hosted by the group, F.A.C.E. was founded in 2010 to raise funds to restore programs and events cut from the Irvington Parks and Recreation budget.

The band line-up is as follows:

  • Irvington Drum Corps
  • Route 9
  • Ang ‘n Ed
  • Reckless Serenade
  • A Moment’s Worth
  • Argon

Headlining the event is Gil Parris & Friends and Unforgettable Fire.

These Westchester food vendors will participate:

  • Zarilli’s Deli
  • Red Barn Bakery
  • Irvington Delight
  • Chutney Masala Indian Bistro
  • Jimmy’s Soft Serve Ice Cream
  • Skinny Buddha

The rain date is Sunday, Oct. 12.
