New cashless toll technology is to be up and running starting at 12 a.m. April 23. Drivers are being strongly encouraged to get an E-ZPass to pay tolls electronically, otherwise they'll get their bills in the mail, lohud.com reports.
Doing away with toll booths in favor of electronic toll equipment has been a long time in coming, and is expected to save hours in yearly commute time for drivers, lohud.com says.
Visit the Thruway's website for details on E-ZPass.
