Motorists are advised that the northbound lane of Warburton Avenue from Washington Avenue to Main Street in Hastings-on-Hudson will be closed through the fall of 2015 with detours posted using Washington Avenue and Broadway (U.S. 9) with a temporary traffic signal installed at the Washington Avenue and Broadway intersection.

The work to be performed on this project includes replacement of the concrete bridge deck, sidewalks, asphalt surface, repairs and painting of the steel superstructure, milling and paving of the roadway approaches.

Warburton Avenue is a well-traveled arterial used by motorists and commercial traffic -- including the Route 1C, 1W, 1T and 1X Bee Line bus system  that runs from the Bronx subway station at Van Cortlandt Park to White Plains and Tarrytown.

The northbound Bee Line routes will be detoured around the bridge and the local stop at Spring Street and Warburton Avenue. Signs have been posted along the route with details on where the buses will stop in the Village of Hastings.

The southbound direction will remain open for the duration of the project. One sidewalk will be maintained throughout construction.

Motorists, many of whom travel north and south from Yonkers through Dobbs Ferry, Irvington and Tarrytown, are advised to seek alternate routes. Numerous variable message signs are being used to alert motorists of the upcoming closure.
