But last week, it resulted in a home invasion in a Bergen County, N.J. residence.

Here's a report from our sister sites in New Jersey, written by New Jersey managing editor Jerry DeMarco for Daily Voice's 22 sites in Bergen and Passaic counties:

A deer crashed through the window of a Saddle Brook, N.J., home on the morning of Tuesday, Oct. 27, ran through the house and then leaped out the way he came in, authorities told Daily Voice.

The Claremont Avenue homeowner called 911 at 10 a.m. to report hearing breaking glass in the laundry room.

"That's when she saw a large buck with antlers," Police Chief Robert Kugler said.

The deer headed upstairs before running back down and out the same window.

"There's a bit of blood on the floor and he knocked some things over but no other major damage," Kugler said.

"The woman was shocked that for his size he was able to get back out."
